Low Voltage TCXO | TKD

TKD Low Voltage TCXO oscillators deliver temperature-compensated timing at 1.1 V  to 2.0 V supply, balancing accuracy with low power for battery-powered GNSS, wearables and IoT devices. Compact packages and low current consumption extend battery life without sacrificing stability.

Low-Voltage Power Design for TCXO Applications

Supply integrity

Provide a low-ripple 1.1 V  to 2.0 V rail with decoupling close to VCC; low-voltage TCXOs are more sensitive to supply noise that can appear as frequency error.

Power-down control

Use the enable/standby pin where available to cut current in sleep mode while keeping the reference ready for quick wake-up.

Regulator sizing

Account for TCXO start-up current and load transitions when sizing the LDO or DC-DC to avoid droop that shifts the output frequency.

Maintaining Timing Accuracy Under Reduced Supply Voltage

Voltage sensitivity

Low-voltage TCXOs are trimmed at 1.1 V  to 2.0 V, so keeping the rail regulated within ±5% minimizes voltage-dependent frequency shift.

Noise coupling

Filter supply noise above the compensation bandwidth and route the clock away from switching regulators to protect accuracy.

Temperature co-effects

Because low voltage reduces headroom, verify the combined worst case of temperature and supply deviation stays inside the frequency budget before finalizing the design.
